The Argentine BitThe Argentine "snaffle" is a colt bit with a long history among trainers and cowboys. The nearly 1-to-1 ratio between the purchase (the distance from the mouthpiece to the bridle rings) and the length of the shanks causes the pressure of the mouthpiece to be distributed evenly over the tongue and bars creating a feel similar to a true snaffle. When used with a loose curb chain, this bit sends a long signal to an inexperienced mouth. May be used with bridle reins, direct reins, draw reins or the combination of any two. |

The lightweight Aluminum shanks provide authority when needed with a reduced angle that increases signal and slows the response from the rider's hand. Inlaid copper bars in the sweet iron mouthpiece increase salivation and keep the mouth moist and sensitive. Hand engraving on the shanks and Silver Conchos make this bit distinctive in or out of the show pen. |
